Title: Communication Assistant

Reporting to: Communication Officer and Project Manager

Key Summary of Position

Reporting to the Communication Officer and the respective Project Manager, the Communication Assistant will support the implementation of communications strategy at the ground level. S/he will be expected to help Communication and Project team in developing strong working partnerships with programme and technical staff to discover, develop and publish impactful stories and branding, visibility products that impact the people, families and communities that Inspire serves. Additionally, s/he will support the development of a range of communications materials for online and offline audiences, including news briefs, fact sheets, blog stories, and publications and liaise with donors, partner organizations and outside contractors, when needed. The Communications assistant will work directly with the UCH program’ team. He/she will be responsible to manage UCH-Inspire Pakistan communications portfolio, develop, execute and manage communications plan, communication and learning material/products including IEC material in consultation with and approval of Communication Officer. Facilitate UCH-Inspire Pakistan in donors and stakeholders’ communications, coordination and content creation for social media platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the project’s branding, communication and visibility work in coordination with the CO, programme as well as project teams including publications, website, social media strategies/posts, communication campaigns and all related project visibility to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of reporting project activities in accordance with the communication and visibility plan.
  • At the field level, act as a focal point on all communications by providing frequent reports and updates
  • Coordinate with programme and project teams to deliver communication plan, including maintaining all training, event and research related visibility.
  • Ensure that all reports and communications materials comply with donor standards, including donor reports, social media, training materials, event-related publications and all other project visibility
  • Support the planning of project activities, ensuring adequate visibility at workshops, training, meetings, public events etc.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets
  • Frequently review field reports (meeting minutes, field visits, monthly reports, etc.) and other similar documents to ensure they meet communication guidelines.
  • Support in the knowledge management of the project by maintaining an internal database of project related communications material
  • Perform any other task given by Supervisor.
  • Write news article and blogs for the Inspire Pakistan websites about the work of UCH, including ‘human interest stories’, to bring our impact to life.
  • Develop, execute and manage UCH program/project communication plan.
  • Assist project team, consultants and trainers in arranging training workshops, seminars, awareness sessions, other outreach activities and develop communication outputs accordingly.
  • Assist project team in developing training materials and other learning resources.
  • Participate in monthly in-house learning session/meetings with donors and other stakeholders, preparing notes and minutes of the same.
  • Develop and manage content for the social media pages and work with program team for promotion of the social media platforms in consent with and approval of Communication Officer.
  • Help identify and document project success stories, taking beneficiaries quotes, and reporting them to the development partners via Communication Officer.
  • Draft key documents; press releases and communication material as required and after approval of Project Manager/ Project Coordinator, submit the same to Communication Officer.
