Job Description
The Communication Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing the communication strategy for the WASH 4 GIRLS and MHM Project. The role involves creating awareness, advocacy, and engagement with stakeholders, ensuring effective dissemination of information, maintaining MIS and enhancing the visibility of the project through various communication channels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communication & Awareness Campaigns
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy to promote WASH and MHM awareness in schools and communities.
- Design and implement awareness campaigns using traditional and digital media, including social media platforms, print materials, and radio broadcasts.
- Engage with local influencers, media personnel, and community leaders to advocate for menstrual health and hygiene.
2. Content Development & Management
- Develop high-quality content, including press releases, newsletters, brochures, and social media posts.
- Produce case studies, success stories, and reports highlighting the project’s impact.
- Coordinate with graphic designers and video producers to develop engaging communication materials.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and community stakeholders.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and media briefings to enhance project outreach.
- Support the development of advocacy materials and policy briefs to influence decision-making.
4. Social Media & Digital Outreach
- Manage and update project social media pages with relevant content and success stories.
- Monitor digital engagement metrics and refine communication strategies based on analytics.
- Conduct online campaigns to promote menstrual health education and WASH practices.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of communication activities, media coverage, and stakeholder engagements.
- Managing and maintaining the data in soft (MIS).
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on communication outcomes and impact.
- Ensure documentation of best practices and lessons learned to improve future interventions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in communication, advocacy, or public relations, preferably in the development sector.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu (Pashto proficiency is an advantage).
- Experience in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation.
- Ability to develop creative and culturally sensitive communication materials.
- Knowledge of WASH, gender issues, or menstrual health management is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

- Excellent storytelling and content development skills.
- Strong analytical and research abilities for advocacy-related communication.
- Proficiency in graphic design and multimedia tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) is desirable.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple communication activities simultaneously.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
