The Position:
Program Officer (PO) will work under supervision of project manager/coordinator for quality implementation of project activities at head office.
Significance:
The Program officer is responsible to provide assistance to his/her line manager in development of reports, analysis, work planning, monitoring and in evaluation. He/she will also be responsible for compilation of all project/program related record and documentations at head office level.
Program Officer:
- Regular coordination with field teams and follow up of work plans
- Compilation of reports, databases and correspondence record
- Provide support and project manager in development of reports, presentations and data analysis.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Compilation of field related data and filing
- Assist project manager/coordinator in data analysis and reporting
- Conduct field level monitoring visits under guidance of project manager/coordinator
- Assists in planning and running events
- Facilitate review meetings, conferences, workshops and other program/project related events
- Facilitate and assist in developing of training plans and capacity building events
- Follow up of actions with district teams as well as at head office level
- Represent and its health interventions at different level (as designated by senior manager
- Ensure internal liaison with all sections and facilitate staff accordingly
- Facilitate monitoring visits of senior managers, donors in close coordination with district teams
- Providing management input to the formulation and review of work plans
- Supporting project/program staff with HR and financial management functions
- Providing inputs in work plans and reports
- Supporting the coordination, tracking and reporting of operational and organizational activities
- Assisting Project manager/Coordinator in documentation, representation, record keeping and in project management
- Ensure regular coordination with field teams for timely input and support
- Any other responsibilities as may be assigned during the course of employment

- Strong liaison with intersection for smooth processing of project related affairs

Knowledge & Skills:
- At least a Master’s degree in a technically compatible field (e.g. public health, international development), with substantial project-related training
- Very proficient in the use of the standard Microsoft Office package
- Be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
- Have high energy, clear goal orientation and strong work ethic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands
- Proven track record as an effective team member
Experience and Education:
- 2-3 years working as program officer
