Core Objectives of the Regional Education Officer (REO) Position:
To coordinate project activities with key stakeholders, including local authorities and community leaders, ensuring alignment with educational policies and needs. The REO is responsible for overseeing the execution of project plans, supervising field education officers, engaging with schools and communities, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting. Additionally, the REO ensures data collection, monitors progress, and facilitates donor and partner visits to ensure project success and adherence to objectives.
Job Descriptions:
- Coordination: Ensure effective coordination with key stakeholders including the Commissionerate of Afghan Refugees (CAR), District Administrator (DA), Refugee Village Administrator (RVA), and the Education Department, to align project activities with local needs and educational policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with community leaders, parents, and relevant stakeholders to ensure broad-based support for the project and to address community concerns effectively.
- Planning and Deployment: Develop and implement monthly activity plans, strategically deploying the team to ensure timely and efficient field visits and project execution.
- Team Engagement: Foster active participation from the project team in activities, ensuring alignment with donor requirements (UNHCR) and maintaining high levels of team commitment.
- Facilitation: Facilitate monitoring visits from donors and external partners by providing required information and progress updates on project activities, ensuring effective communication and visibility.
- Meetings and Monitoring: Conduct regular meetings with the project team to monitor progress, discuss challenges, and ensure activities are aligned with project objectives and targets.
- School Collaboration: Maintain effective coordination with head teachers of refugee village schools and ALP schools to address any educational needs or challenges, ensuring smooth implementation of project activities.
- Supervision and Management: Oversee the project activities within the region, supervising field education officers (FEOs) and ensuring they are following established plans and guidelines.
- Community Engagement: Organize regular meetings with the community, teachers, and Parent-Teacher Committees (PTCs) to assess the effectiveness of activities, address enrollment issues, and identify potential challenges.
- Data Management: Ensure accurate collection, verification, and submission of field data to the data analyst for reporting, contributing to effective monitoring and evaluation of the project.
- Field Visits: Conduct regular field visits to assess the progress of activities, provide support to schools, and collaborate with the Project Coordinator to review the implementation of planned activities.
- Record Keeping: Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping of all program activities to ensure transparency, accountability, and accurate reporting.
- Reporting: Submit detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the Project Coordinator, providing insights into the status of activities, progress, and challenges encountered.
Requirements:
Master in any discipline
5 years of solid experience in Education projects and 10 years overall experience required.
Very good in report writing
Excellent computer skills
Can supervise a large team
