Core Objectives of the Education Specialist Position:
The Education Specialist will provide technical support, oversight, and professional development of RV schools and Alternate Learning Pathways (ALP) centres teachers. The role involves developing innovative learning methodology for ensuring continuous quality improvement (CQI) and adherence to national and international education standards, and fostering an inclusive and child-friendly learning environment.
Job Description:
Program Implementation and Quality Assurance
- Provide on the job training to teachers and education staff on outcome indicators to access, equity and quality education.
- Review and refine the teaching methodologies to ensure child-cantered, inclusive, activity based and joyful learning practices.
- Develop and implement teacher training programs to enhance their pedagogical skills in multi-grade teaching, assessment and learning outcome.
- Ensure that the ALP curriculum/packages are aligned with government and donor requirements.
- Establish coordinate with the KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department, Directorate of Professional Development (DPD), EMIS Directorate and ALP PIU to support the primary and secondary education.
- Coordination with TBB for ensuring timely providing of text books to RV schools.
- Provide support and guidance to validate refugees EMIS data, identify discrepancies, and ensure its accuracy.
Develop strategy/plan for conducting exams/assessments of the Refugee Village schools and ALP Centres.
Education:
- 16 years of Education with B.Ed.
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience with at least 3 years of core experinece in education programming, preferably in Afghan Refugee communities.
Demonstrated experience in teacher trainings, assessment and strong coordinating skills with E&SED KP.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of formal and non-formal education systems, including ALP.
- Proficiency in child-cantered and inclusive teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse data and prepare detailed reports.
- Fluency in Pashto and Urdu; knowledge of English is an asset.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel extensively to remote refugee villages.
- This role is Kohat/Peshawar based.
