Job Purpose

Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is a leading national humanitarian organization committed to preventing and alleviating human suffering by mobilizing the power of humanity through volunteers.

The Program Manager, Routine Immunization Programme is responsible for leading, planning, and managing Routine Immunization (RI) activities across KP province. The role focuses on strengthening immunization coverage, supporting EPI services in underserved and complex settings, and ensuring effective implementation of RI interventions in alignment with PRCS mandate and national priorities.

The incumbent will ensure high quality program implementation, coordination with stakeholders, and compliance with donor and organizational requirements. The role also involves technical leadership, data driven decision making, and capacity building of field teams.

 

Major Responsibilities

Program Management & Implementation

  1. Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Routine Immunization Programme in KP.
  2. Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans aligned with program objectives.
  3. Ensure effective implementation of RI interventions in target districts and union councils.
  4. Support delivery of immunization services in hard-to-reach, underserved, and emergency settings.

Coordination & Liaison

  1. Maintain close coordination with Provincial EPI Department, NSTOP Officers, Provincial EOC for Polio, District Health Officers, and relevant stakeholders.
  2. Liaise with PRCS NHQ, Movement partners (IFRC, ICRC), and other partners for program alignment and support.
  3. Represent PRCS in coordination forums, technical working groups, and relevant meetings.

Monitoring, Reporting & Data Use

  1. Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting of RI activities (weekly/monthly).
  2. Identify low-coverage areas and propose evidence based interventions.
  3. Ensure timely submission of donor reports, program updates, and technical documentation.
  4. Conduct regular monthly monitoring visits and supportive supervision of field teams.
  5. Ensure the monitoring reports are well elaborated and shared timely with the NHQ.

Capacity Building & Technical Support

  1. Strengthen capacity of field staff on immunization, social mobilization, and community engagement.
  2. Organize trainings and refresher sessions for staff and volunteers.
  3. Provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to national EPI guidelines and standards.

Community Engagement & Demand Creation

  1. Ensure effective social mobilization strategies to improve vaccine uptake.
  2. Support community-based interventions to address vaccine hesitancy and improve awareness.

Emergency Response

  1. Support emergency health response through mobile health teams, medical camps, and outreach services when required.
  2. Integrate RI services within emergency health interventions where feasible.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  1. Ensure compliance with PRCS policies, donor requirements, and quality standards.
  2. Monitor program performance and recommend improvements.
  3. Ensure the timely reporting of activities and financial files to the NHQ.

Administrative & Team Management

  1. Supervise RI project staff and support performance management processes.
  2. Contribute to budget planning, resource allocation, and efficient utilization.
  3. Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.  

 

 

QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE,

 MBBS (mandatory); MPH preferred

 Strong knowledge of:

  • Routine Immunization / EPI
  • Public health and primary healthcare
  • Epidemiology and health systems

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in public health programs
  • Experience in immunization, EPI, or humanitarian health programs preferred
  • Experience working with government and development partners is an asset

AGE:

  • Maximum Age limit is 50 years

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good writing and speaking skills in English.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and long hours.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to network effectively, and work in a team efficiently.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and deliver results.
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills, including the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and drive organizational change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
  • Trained in Routine Immunization, Primary Healthcare and familiar with community-based surveillance.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity in public health programming and service delivery.
